Inspired by the Amrita™, both in sound and concept, a tribute to P-Bass enthusiasts who loved the raw, anti-aesthetic charm of the Amrita™ and the sound resonance of Marleo™.
The Amrita Woodworm was Michael League's limited-edition signature, the raw P-Bass behind Snarky Puppy's low end. The Marlita is its heir: the same Aguilar P-HOT pickup and worm-eaten wood, now a limited production bass, built only while that rare wood lasts.
Michael plays them both.

The worm-eaten alder came from the workshop of a luthier who had passed. That wood became Michael League's Amrita, and lives on in every Marlita. The tiny tonal chambers left by woodboring beetles give the body a punchy, airy voice, no two alike.

Marlita™ features an asymmetrical headstock with four in-line, size-matched Hipshot tuners for precise, stable tuning, even through the toughest gigs. Whatever the body colour, the headstock is always natural wood.

All colours are satin (matte) over the same worm-eaten body, except Natural, bare wood. Custom colours on request.
Roll the tone down for a warm, vintage sound, open it up to add bite and presence. Hear how the bass adapts to you. Recorded by Bass The World.

Meet Bruno Bacci, a master luthier from the heart of Tuscany who embodies traditional craftsmanship and innovative design. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Pistolesi, Bacci ventured into the world of worm-eaten wood, a rare material aged for over two decades.
His mastery of that exceptional timber led to the limited-edition Amrita Woodworm: a testament to his vision for blending the rich nuances of vintage sound with the dynamism of contemporary bass tones.
The Amrita's run is over, but its essence lives on. The Marlita is its production heir: the same hand, the same worm-eaten wood and Aguilar P-HOT voice, now built to order for every player, and only for as long as that rare wood lasts, until the very last piece is gone. Bruno didn't just craft a bass, he redefined the essence of musical excellence, and the Marlita carries it forward.
Dynamic response, a balanced body and the tonal clarity of the best '70s P-Bass, vintage feeling and modernity, ready to dominate the contemporary mix.

Michael League, renowned musician and founder of Snarky Puppy, on the bass that became his signature, and lives on in the Marlita.
Bruno Bacci: "I want to make a signature bass with you, so what can we change?"
Michael League: "Nothing. It's perfect."
At the first Ground UP Music Festival, on tour, Michael asked Bruno if there was a bass he could borrow. Bruno handed him the Marlita, and it's been on the road with him ever since.
My relationship with the instrument as its signature artist is just that I'm representing it to the world, because the sound of that instrument is the sound I like to hear from a bass.
One of the beautiful things is that it's very versatile. Put flats on it and the tone really low and it sounds like an old P bass. Put round-wounds on and there's a lot of bite.
The two Bacci basses I have contain all the frequencies you want to produce as a bass player, and none of the frequencies you don't.
Michael League, founder of the Grammy-winning Snarky Puppy, takes Bacci onto the world's biggest stages. Live at North Sea Jazz, that low end reached over a million people.

One of LA's most in-demand bassists, trusted by Shania Twain, Gwen Stefani and Shakira, on the road with Don Felder and Melissa Etheridge. He didn't reach for a stock instrument: he had Bruno build him his own one-off, then took it around the world for his Bass The World series.
The artists he plays for fill arenas, and these are the names that keep calling him:
Derek played his custom Bacci live at NAMM 2026, the world's biggest gear show.
Grammy winners. Session legends. Festival headliners. Every one of them could reach for anything on earth, and they reach for an instrument made entirely by hand, start to finish, by a single luthier: Bruno Bacci, in Tuscany.
The players who reach for one.
When your Marlita is ready, standard or custom, you can choose to come and collect it yourself in Tuscany. The Bacci Experience is a few days living like a Tuscan: espresso in Bruno's favourite village bars, walks through 500-year-old streets, and private visits to Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Carmignano and the hill towns in between.
You spend real hours in the workshop with Bruno, sanding the body, feeling the neck, dialling in the setup and the voice he built for you. Then the reveal: in a darkened room, your bass waits on a stage under a red velvet cloak; your favourite song plays, Bruno lifts the cloth, and you play it for the first time, an instrument that has never been played by anyone. That evening Bruno cooks for everyone, the whole Bacci team at the table, dinner under the pergola at Casa Bacci. Part instrument, part pilgrimage. You don't just buy a Marlita, you become one of us.
“How often do you get to play an instrument that's never been played? I found that moving and deeply special.” Angus Snowdon · Bacci Experience guest
